RNID

RNID is the largest charity working to change the world for the UK’s 9 million deaf and hard of hearing people.

RNID communication services and training is working to deliver the highest quality communication services to deaf and hard of hearing people.

Our aims

We're committed to:

  • Increasing the numbers of qualified Language Service Professionals.
  • Identifying and training tutors and assessors to deliver advanced training and run courses for interpreters, electronic notetakers, lipspeakers and other communication professionals across the UK.
  • Delivering high quality communication services for deaf and hard of hearing people
  • Maintaining and extending the availability of relay services for deaf and hard of hearing people.
  • Facilitating the growth and development of Lipspeaker and Electronic Notetaker Associations.
  • Continuing to offer training in the higher levels of BSL (Levels 3 and 4) and to pilot NVQ Level 4 Interpreting Assessment. To develop the BSL training infrastructure elsewhere in the UK; capacity building the numbers of tutors, trainers and assessors.
