An intepreter doesn't show but you're 'off duty'

You have attended a public meeting; you’re not working. There are Deaf people in the audience too.

Just before the event starts they announce that the interpreter is unable to make it. 

  • Should you offer your services? 
  • What about your clothes (if you’re not dressed appropriately)? 
  • Is it ok to stay and be a member of the audience?
