Overuse Syndrome among Sign Language interpreters

This article explains the signs and symptoms for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) (also called Overuse Syndrome or Repetitive Strain Injury).  It also provides information on prevention techniques that can be used.

The article is based upon experience from the Communication Services Unit of the National Center on Deafness in Northridge, California.  The author states that through use of these prevention techniques, the unit has been able to reduce the number of reported cases of Overuse Syndrome from 37 (from two years previous) to 2.
